How I Work
Most consultants treat organizations like broken watches. I don't.
A watch is complicated. You take it apart, map the gears, fix the gear, put it back together. Done.
An organization is not complicated. It is complex. It adapts. It responds to being observed. It has emergent behavior that doesn't appear in an org chart, a requirements document, or a kickoff call.
Most engagements stall because someone applied a complicated-system solution to a complex-system problem. They mapped the gears. The gears weren't the issue.
I was trained in complex adaptive systems. I approach every engagement the way a diagnostician approaches an unknown: no hypothesis before evidence. I go wide before I go deep, every stakeholder, every layer, every tension point, because the stated problem is rarely the actual problem.
That discipline is what compresses timelines. It is what keeps projects under budget. It is what produces outcomes that outlast the engagement.
And now, with AI embedded in every system conversation: the final layer of the diagnostic is discernment. Some problems require deterministic solutions. Some benefit from probabilistic ones. Getting that wrong, in either direction, is one of the most expensive mistakes an organization can make right now.
